Fun fact: you are ALWAYS three feet away from a spider. And in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse this fact is positively true!

This movie has it all and proves that sometimes some stories need to be animated instead of real-life action flicks. We follow Miles Morales in this universe and how he ends up becoming the next Spider-Man after the death of his universe’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, who dies at the hands of Fisk.

I’ve always liked Doc Octavius but a female version with those awesome synthetic-skin-covered tentacles was so unexpected and awesome! We have Fisk, Scorpion, and Tombstone as our baddies and a wonderfully surprising Aunt May who obviously knows her tech.
The nods to the days of the old Spidey’s vehicles and the endearing Stan Lee scene was both sweet and delightful. The different Spideys really bring home the concept that anyone can wear the mask.

The biggest factor of this movie is the fact that the feel of this movie is strictly comic book style. All throughout the movie you get to see the halftone printer dots one always sees in older comics, and the action words which again just make the nostalgia come through.

So go see Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, take your parents of course and get them to relive their love of our neighborhood friendly Spider-Man.

Till then kids, have fun, read on and dream the impossible to be possible!
