When 5-year-old Grant Lawson was diagnosed with leukemia, he was thrust into a world no child should ever have to navigate: hospital visits, IVs, medications, and fatigue.

But thanks to the compassionate team at Children’s Nebraska, Grant found something powerful—something straight out of a comic book. They didn’t just give him a toy. They made him his own superhero.

Inspired by Marvel’s Thor, the hospital staff designed a custom action figure modeled after Grant, complete with a red cape and hammer. The result?

A young patient who didn’t just feel cared for—he felt seen, strong, and super.
